Iran’s Karrar-4 UAV Engages In Aerial Combat - passes Operational Tests

Iran has unveiled its first indigenous unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) armed with air defense missiles suitable for aerial combats.

Iran’s Deputy Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami told the inauguration ceremony on Tuesday that the combat drone has successfully passed operational tests by hitting predetermined targets and is now ready to be delivered to the country's armed forces.
He added that the new drone has increased the operational range of the armed forces’ drones and their capability to track, chase, intercept and destroy intruding aircraft.
“The drone is capable of destroying various flying aircraft including fighter jets, unmanned aerial vehicles and helicopters,” Hatami said.
Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani on August 24 unveiled two unmanned aerial vehicles, dubbed Karrar-4 and Mohajer-4.

It looks like the arms race has just heated up over in the Middle East, as Iran has just revealed their very first indigenous unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that comes complete with air defense missiles, making it ideal to get involved in aerial combats as and when required. At the inauguration ceremony, Iran’s Deputy Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami mentioned that this combat drone has undergone successful operational tests as it managed to take down predetermined targets, and is ready to rock and roll alongside Iran’s armed forces.
Apart from that, this new drone is touted to feature an increased operational range of the armed forces’ drones as well as their capability to track, chase, intercept and destroy intruding aircraft. Hatami mentioned, “The drone is capable of destroying various flying aircraft including fighter jets, unmanned aerial vehicles and helicopters.”

"These new drones are capable of destroying different types of aircraft, including fighter jets, drones and helicopters," said Deputy Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami. Iran also unveiled the Sadeq 1, a UAV which allegedly flies at supersonic speeds and has a maximum altitude of 25,000 feet. "The Iran-made drone has been manufactured for testing radar and electronic systems and training assessments," Fars said.

The IRGC on Sunday unveiled a home-made high-explosive mine and test-fired an anti-cruise missile in a ceremony attended by General Pakpour.

Among the weapons test-fired was a rotating three-cylinder cannon, 'Asefeh', which was unveiled a few months ago and can be used to target and destroy incoming cruise missiles and hostile flying objects in low altitudes.

Another system which was unveiled and test-fired was 'Ramait' high-explosive roadside mine which can destroy an armored column within a radius of 100-150 meters with high precision.

Also a solo weapon, 'Fateh', was the third system unveiled this afternoon. Fateh is an Iran-made sniper rifle that fires 5.56mm bullets.
