Urthecast 4k UHD Video from ISS is out of this world

NASA is starting to upload 4K, 60fps videos to YouTube | The Verge
New camera enables Ultra HD 4K video from International Space Station | ExtremeTech
A new camera module from a company called UrtheCast is now up and running on the ISS, and it’s capable of capturing 4K Ultra High-Definition (UHD) video. It’s the next best thing to actually being in space.
Unlike the HD video feed from the High Definition Earth-Viewing System (HDEV), which is streamed live on NASA’s Ustream page, the UHD video from the new camera will be edited and posted on the ReelNASA YouTube account. You can see the first one below, which includes some cool footage of the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft. Ultra HD video has a resolution of 3840×2160. That’s four times the pixels of old fashioned 1080p video. The bandwidth requirement of streaming that live is probably too much for the station. It will take at least a few hours to get the video clips from UrtheCast cameras down to Earth and posted online.
