DoD Approves Designations for Navy UCLASS, K-Max

The Department of Defense (DoD) has approved the designation

CQ-24A the Lockheed Martin/Kaman cargo UAS K-Max

RQ-26A, is the Aerostar

UCLASS still to be defined

• RAQ-25A for the Unmanned Carrier-Launched Air Surveillance and Strike (UCLASS)
  system. The designation reflects the attack and reconnaissance roles intended for the UCLASS.
• CQ-24A for the Lockheed Martin/Kaman cargo UAS known as K-Max, which deployed with the Marine Corps in Afghanistan for more than three years.
• RQ-26A, is the Aerostar, built by Aeronautics Defense Systems,  which is used by the Naval Air Warfare Center’s UAS test directorate at Webster Field, Md., “as a surrogate test bed,” said Jamie Cosgrove, spokeswoman for the Program Executive Office (Strike Weapons and Unmanned Aviation).
