Second Cherry Point shadow falls in Neuse River

Another Cherry Point drone ends up in Neuse River
For the second time this summer, a Marine Corps drone has ended up in the Neuse River.
Cherry Point says the 11-foot long UAV, or unmanned aerial vehicle, ditched into the river around 9:50 a.m.
It happened north of the air station, according to Cherry Point.
The air station says Marine Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Squadron 2 was doing local familiarization flight training when the accident occurred.
No one was injured and there are no reports of any property damage.
The accident involved a Shadow, which is 11 feet long and has a 14-foot wingspan. The UAV weighs less than 400 pounds and does not carry weapons.
Marines say the drone has been located and recovered about six hours after the accident.
Back on June 24th, the same type of UAV ended up in the Neuse, and that drone was never found.
